cloudscape- finished

So I finished the cloudscape I was working on.

I am pleased with it. It's got some depth in it, and that's something I'm not very good at. I learned a lot with this piece.



Just for fun, here it is in context where it hangs above our tv.

Progress stuff

Getting free time to paint is awesome. Of course, I have a million other things to do... but at least I am painting some.

This one is a work in progress. I really like doing cloudscapes. Andrew got bonus points for this when he came home and said "oooh, I really like the depth in it!" I was pushing to get some depth in this as my paintings can sometimes lack depth.

This was Andrew's idea. Nebulas are like clouds, yes? Oh man, nebulas are so much fun to paint! I plan on doing many more. The colours, oh man, the colours! Such a blast.
Next one, though, will have a bit more detail and try to be more accurate. This was an amalgam of several nebulas and such, the next will, for Andrew's sake, probably be just the eagle nebula.

Funemployment!

Well I recently ended my last job, so I'm busy upgrading my demo reel to hopefully get a new job soon. The upside of this is that I have time to paint finally.


First, a new picture of the painting I posted in my last post.


My first attempt at anything abstract. Had fun with this one. It was really hard to get a good picture of, so you get mediocre... It's actually softer and richer, but what can you do. It's hanging above our computers.

There is more, but I'm going to save them for another post.
